Modifying the Notification Behavior for Windows Event Viewer Alerts

In Simpana version 9.0, the Windows Event Viewer alert includes tokens for all entities. To retain this behavior, you must add the WindowsEventsUseDefaultMsg additional setting on the CommServe.

Without this additional setting, only relevant or important entity tokens are included in the alert.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe and then click Properties.
  2. In the Commcell Properties dialog box, click the Additional Settings tab and then click Add.
  3. In the Add Additional Settings dialog box, enter the additional setting details for the additional setting:
    1. In the Name box, type WindowsEventsUseDefaultMsg.

The Category and Type details will be automatically populated.

    2. In the Value box, enter 1.
  4. Click OK.
