Preinstallation Checklist for Commvault Remote Office Appliance RO1100

Use the following table to record the information required for the installation and the configuration of Commvault Remote Office Appliance RO1100.

Fully Qualified Domain Name or Host name *

The hostname of the appliance must be fully resolvable and addressable by the CommServe server and client computers in the CommCell environment.

By default this information is provided by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).

 

If you disable the option to automatically obtain the IPv4 address, you must provide the following information:

  • Static IP address
  • Subnet mask
  • Default gateway

DNS Server

By default this information is provided by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). If this information is not provided by the DHCP, you must type this information.

If you disable the option to automatically obtain the DNS Server address, you must provide the following information:

  • Preferred DNS server
  • Alternate DNS server

(Optional) Domain Name

To add the appliance to an existing domain, specify the domain name.

Existing Domain Name:

(Optional) Domain Username and password

User credentials required to add the appliance to an existing domain.

Domain User Name

Domain Password:

(Optional) Mail server

If the CommServe server is installed in the appliance, you can send alerts for events in the CommCell.

You can also configure the e-mail server after configuring the appliance.

E-Mail Server:

(Optional) E-mail address

E-mail address of the recipient of e-mail alerts.

User E-mail Address:

* Dynamic naming is required by the appliance for network communication. Ensure that the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) is configured for the appliance in the network.
