Modifying the DB2 Archive Path
After the DB2 online log files are full, the Commvault software moves them to the DB2 archive path. When you install the DB2 Agent, you specify the parent path where the software stores the archive files, audit error log files, and files that are used in the DB2 recovery process.
The Archive Log path is the disk location that the software uses for DB2 log archiving. The is the location where the software archives the online logs.
Use this procedure to change the DB2 archive path after you install the DB2 Agent.
Note: In a multi-instance and multi-database configuration, you can configure multiple archive paths by configuring this additional setting for each instance and database.
- To the DB2 client, add the additional setting as shown in the following table.
For instructions on how to add additional settings from the CommCell Console, see Adding or Modifying Additional Settings from the CommCell Console.
- If the configuration includes only one database, in the Name box, type sDB2_ARCHIVE_PATH.
- If the configuration includes multiple instances or multiple databases, in the Name box, type <db2 instance name>_<db name>_sDB2_ARCHIVE_PATH.
Note: The DB2 instance name (db2_instance_name) and the DB2 database name (db_name) must be in upper case.
