Configuring the Oracle Archived Data Index

This task applies to the subclient on the production database. The archived data index specifies the archived data table columns that users can access. You can use the columns to search the archived data without restoring the data (Browse and Restore dialog box, Search Archived Data tab). The columns can be all or a subset of the table columns, depending on your business rules, and what data application users need to access.

Before You Begin

Set the Java Path.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > Oracle >instance.
  2. Right-click the archive_subclient and click Properties.

The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

  3. On the Content tab right-click the table to build the query against and select Specify Index Columns.

The Specify Content Indexing For dialog box appears.

    1. Select one or more columns from the Columns Available box and then click Add > to add them to the table's content index.
    2. Click OK.

The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

  4. Click OK.

Once the data is archived, you can query or search the table columns on the archive database or backup media.
