Data Growth Prediction Per Storage Policy Report

The Data Growth Prediction per Storage Policy Report predicts the number of days that each library can be used, based on the amount of data growth over the specified time period and the current amount of free space for each storage policy. Displays additional information including the duration of the backup job, data throughput rate, associated MediaAgent, and Library name.

Running the Report

  1. Open the command prompt and navigate to the <software installation path>\Base> folder.
  2. Enter qlogin, and then enter your user name and password.
  3. Run the following command:

qoperation execscript -sn QS_DataGrowthPerCopy -si @Frequency = '<unit of time over which to gather information>' -si @Periods='<number of days, weeks, or months>' –si @StartDate=’<date on which to begin the report>’ –si @EndDate=’<date on which to end the report>’ –si @Predictions=’<number of days, weeks, or months over which to predict data>’ -si @MediaType = '<disk, tape, or both>' -si @CopyType = '<backup, replication, or both>' -si @LibraryName = '<name of storage library>' -si @PolicyName = '<name of storage policy>' -si @CopyName = '<name of storage policy copy>' -format 'csv' –file '<output location and filename>'

The report is saved to the location that you specified.

Example

To see the amount of backup data stored on disk for a specific storage policy over the last 3 months, and how much data is predicted to store over the next 5 months, run the following command:
