Does the Web Console use Apache Struts?
No, the Web Console does not use Apache Struts.
Do I Need a Web Server for End-User Access to the Web Console?
Yes. You need a Web Server for end-user access to the Web Console.
The Web Console is a web-based application that allows end-users manage their data. The Web Server is the web service that process requests from one or more web-based applications and communicates with the CommServe system to provide access to CommCell and end-user operations on the web.
The Web Console requires a Web Server. By default, the Web Server is installed as part of the CommServe installation when IIS is enabled on the computer. If not installed, you can install the Web Server on the same computer as the Web Console, or on a different computer.
In a multi-tenant CommCell environment, you can deploy multiple Web Servers and Web Consoles to allow Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication for different Active Directory (AD) domains. You can also assign the Web Servers to individual client computer groups to generate separate metric reports.
How do I re-enable the Download Center Icon on the Web Console Landing Page after an Upgrade?
After you upgrade to the latest service pack, the Download Center icon might not be visible on the Web Console landing page.
To resolve this issue, you can execute the following QScript on the CommServe computer to re-enable the Download Center icon in your Web Console:
qoperation execscript -sn WebFeatures -si "add" -si "2"

Can I view the schedule of synthetic full backup jobs on the Web Console?
No. Synthetic full backup schedules are controlled by the administrator and will not be displayed on the Web Console.
