Media Properties (General)
Use this dialog box to view the hardware and configuration information about a media.
The number displayed on the barcode label of the media, if the library is configured as a sighted library. (Sighted library is a library with a barcode reader.)
A user definable label for the media, if the library is configured as a blind or stand-alone library. (Blind library is a library without a barcode reader.). The label can be changed at any time without affecting the ability to backup or restore.
- Unique ID
The unique ID generated by the MediaAgent for the media when the media was imported and discovered.
- Currently in Library
The name of the library in which the media resides.
- Last Written in Library
The name of the library in which the media was last written.
The current location of the media. If necessary, you can change the location when the media is exported from the library.
- If the media is inside the library, this field displays the storage slot or the Drive Name in which the media resides.
- If the media is outside the library and you entered a location when you exported it (e.g., Shelf 4 in Storage Room), that location is displayed here. Note that the MediaAgent system has no control over media once they leave the library; it is your responsibility to ensure that exported media are stored in the location entered.
- If the media is outside the library and was moved using a Tracking Policy, the name of the destination (library or location) is displayed.
- Previously Exported to
Displays the name of the export location, if the media was previously exported and then imported back in to the library.
When selected, indicates that the media is currently located in the container. You can also add or change the Container Name from the list.

- Storage Policy
The storage policy used to write to the media.
- Storage Policy Copy
The storage policy copy used to write to the media.
- Stream Number
The stream number used to write to the media. (Displayed only when the media contains data - not displayed for spare media.)
The CommCell ID associated with the media.
- Reuse migrated media
Displays whether the media can be reused after CommCell Migration. (Yes/No) This is based on whether the media from the migrated CommCell was specified to be re-used during the merge operation. (Displayed only when the media was migrated from another CommCell.)
Use this field to enter a description about the entity. You can include information such as the entity's content, and cautionary notes.
- Media Type
Specifies the default cleaning media type in the library.
- Discovered On
The time at which the media was discovered.
- Last Exported Time
The most recent time at which the media was exported.
- Number Of Uses
Displays the number of times the selected cleaning media has been used.
Identifies the current state of the media. When the condition is not displayed as Good, the appropriate reason is also displayed.
