Creating a Subclient with Credentials

Applies to: Network Share IntelliSnap Backup for CIFS Shares

You can create a subclient with new or saved credentials to impersonate a user.

Procedure

  1. Run the qlogin command to log on to the CommServe computer.
  2. Download the create_subclient_template.xml file to the computer where you will run the command.
  3. Open the create_subclient_template.xml file, add your specific parameters, and save the file.

  4. Run one of the following commands from the software_installation_directory/Base folder:
    • To create a subclient with impersonate user credentials, run the following command.

      qoperation execute -af create_subclient_template.xml -subClientEntity/clientName xxxxx -backupsetName xxxxx -subclientName xxxxx -storagePolicyName xxxxx -instanceName xxxxx -cs xxxxx -contentOperationType ADD -content/path xxxxx -appName 'File System' -impersonateUser/userName xxxxx -impersonateUser/password xxxxx -isSnapBackupEnabled true -snapShotEngineName 'xxxxx' -backupConfiguration/backupDataAccessNodes/clientName xxxxx

    • To create a subclient with saved credentials, run the following command.

      qoperation execute -af create_subclient_template.xml -subClientEntity/clientName xxxxx -backupsetName xxxxx -subclientName xxxxx -storagePolicyName xxxxx -instanceName xxxxx -cs xxxxx -contentOperationType ADD -content/path xxxxx -appName 'File System' -impersonateUserCredentialinfo/credentialName xxxxx -isSnapBackupEnabled true -snapShotEngineName 'xxxxx' -backupConfiguration/backupDataAccessNodes/clientName xxxxx
