Configuring a Key Management Server to Secure the Passwords of Application User Accounts

The software uses AES-256 to encrypt the passwords of the application user accounts, and then stores the key used for encryption in the CommServe database using a built-in key management server. Optionally, you can protect the encryption key using a key management server including the passphrase key management server.

Before You Begin

Add a key management server.

  1. From the CommCell Console ribbon, on the Home tab, click Control Panel.
  2. Under CommCell, click System.

    The System dialog box appears.

  3. On the Security tab, in the Password Encryption area, from the Key Management Servers list, select a key management server.
  4. Click OK.
