Changing Exchange Policies

After you assign an Exchange policy to a mailbox, or you can change the policy to a different one.

If the mailbox that you select was originally associated with the subclient as part of a database or AD Group, and automatic discovery was enabled, then changing the policy changes the discovery type to manual. To continue to autodiscover mailboxes, you must change the discovery type to automatic.

Note: Some of the steps in this procedure apply to the User Mailbox only, and not to the Journal Mailbox or ContentStore Mailbox.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Console, expand Client Computers > client > agent > set.
  2. At the bottom of the right pane, click the Mailboxes tab.
  3. Select one or more mailboxes.
  4. Right-click one of the selected mailboxes, and then click Assign > policy_type.

    The Edit Association dialog box appears.

  5. On the Policies tab, select the appropriate policy from the Policy list.
  6. Click OK.

    On the Mailboxes tab, the name of the current policy appears in the corresponding column for the selected mailboxes.

    User Mailbox only: If the discovery type for the mailbox was Auto previously, the type in the Auto Discovered column is change to Manual.

  7. Optional for the User Mailbox only: Change the Auto Discovered type to Auto.
    1. Select one or more mailboxes.
    2. Right-click one of the selected mailboxes, and then click Assign > Auto-discovery.

      The Edit Association dialog box appears.

    3. Select the Enable Auto-Discover check box.
    4. Click OK.

      On the Mailboxes tab, the Auto Discovered type for the selected mailboxes is changed to Auto.
