Browsing Data (VMware Plug-in)

By default, the latest backups are displayed when browsing the backup data of a virtual machine. You can browse from a specific date or from a date range, and hide deleted data during a browse.

From a Specific Date

  1. From the Web Console, click My Data.
  2. Click VMs.
  3. Under My Virtual Machines, click Restore for the virtual machine that contains the data you want to browse.
  4. From the Restore Files page, click Showing latest backups and select Show backups to a specific date.
  5. Select the date when the backups you want to see took place and click OK.

    The browse window refreshes and shows the backups from the date you selected.

From a Specific Date Range

  1. From the Web Console, click My Data.
  2. Click VMs.
  3. Under My Virtual Machines, click Restore for the virtual machine that contains the data you want to browse.
  4. From the Restore Files page, click Showing latest backups and select Show backups for a date range.
  5. Specify the range of dates that includes the backups you want to see and click OK.

    The browse window refreshes and shows the backups from the specified date range.

Hiding Deleted Data during Browse

When data from previous backups has been deleted, you can hide the deleted items from the browse view:

  1. From the Web Console, click My Data.
  2. Click VMs.
  3. Under My Virtual Machines, click Restore for the virtual machine that contains the data you want to browse.
  4. From the Restore Files page, click Hide Deleted Items.
