Configuring the Software for Oracle Multi-Instance Snap Optimization
If you use NFS mount points for Oracle multi-instance snap optimization, then you must set the sUSE_FILE_LEVEL_REVERT additional setting so that you can perform file-level restores.
When you set the additional setting, the Commvault software performs a volume-level restore instead of a revert restore for the following reasons:
- A revert restore is intended for restoring all databases.
- The volume-level restore is faster than the revert restore.
Procedure
- To the Oracle client, add the additional setting as shown in the following table.
