Configuring Edge Drive Alert for Jive Notification

You can allow Jive users to receive notifications if the ObjectStore user uploads a Jive file on the ObjectStore from the Web Console or other Edge Drive enabled devices. To allow notifications, you must create an Edge Drive alert to run the HTTP Callback for Jive Notification workflow from the CommCell Console.

Before You Begin

Complete the following requirements:


  1. Create an alert.
  2. On the General Information page, in the Display Name box, type the Jive Notification tenantId_of_Jive_instance as the display name of the alert, and then click Next.
  3. In the Category box, select Configuration, and in the Type box, select the Edge drive/Share operations, and then click Next.
  4. On the Threshold and Notification Criteria Selection page, select Edge Drive/Share operations and Send individual notification criteria.
  5. On the Notification Type(s) Selection page, click the Workflow tab to enable the alert to execute a workflow.
  6. Click the Select [Workflow] for notification check box.
  7. In the Workflow to run list, select HTTP Callback for Jive Notification.

    A table with Name, Value, and Type columns is displayed. The Name and Type columns are populated with inputs defined in the workflow.

  8. Enter a value for the following inputs:
    1. serviceUrl - Type the Service URL that you provided for the Jive Add-On.
    2. ApiName - The value service/JiveEsf/edgenotification is auto populated.
    3. tenant_id: Type the Tenant Id of the Jive Instance.
    4. Notification_input_User: Select <USER NAME> token. The input identifies the user who performed the upload activity on the ObjectStore.
    5. Notification_input_ActivityName: Select <ACTIVITY NAME> token.
    6. Notification_input_EntityGuid: Select <ENTITY GUID> token.
    7. Notification_input_OwnerName: Select <OWNER NAME> token.
    8. Notification_input_ShareId: Select <SHARE ID> token.
  9. From the Run workflow on list, pick a workflow engine to run the workflow:
    • To run the workflow using a specific engine, click that engine.
    • To run the workflow using the engine with the latest deployed version of the workflow, click Any.
  10. Review your selections on the Summary page.
  11. Click Finish.
  12. To complete configuring the alert, on the Jive Add-on Settings page, click Configure Alert.

  13. On the Login Success page, click Finish.

    The page requesting access to ObjectStore appears.

  14. Click Allow.
  15. On the ObjectStore settings page, click Save and Activate.
