Archiving Configuration for Windows File System

• Verify that you have a running CommCell environment configured with a MediaAgent and a storage policy.
• Verify that the following packages are installed on the Windows client:
  • File System Core
  • File System

    For more information about installing the packages, see Preinstallation Checklist for Windows File System.

• One of the following packages is required to recall archived data on a Windows client:
  • Driver for File Archiver

    For more information about installing the Driver for File Archiver package, see Preinstallation Checklist for the Driver for File Archiver.

  • Explorer Plug-In

    Edge Monitor tool is required to perform driverless recalls by using the Explorer Plug-In. When installing the File System Core and File System packages, if you configure the agent for laptop backup, the Edge Monitor tool is also installed.

• Delayed archiving prevents data loss in the event that you must perform a disaster recovery (DR) restore. For more information about delayed archiving, see Delayed Archiving.
• If your production environment is configured with antivirus software, see Recommended Antivirus Exclusions for Windows.
