Enabling the Export to Web Server Option in Compliance Search

In Compliance Search, you can configure the export to Web Server option for compliance users. The export to Web Server options sends a copy of data from Compliance Search to a location on the Web Server.

Web Server Locations

When configuring the export to Web Server feature, you can use one of the following location types:

  • A local path on the Web Server.

If you specify a local path on the Web Server, all exports will be saved to the local folder. You must also have the credentials of the owner of the folder, or a domain user with write permissions on the folder to configure this option. The Network Service account must also have read and write permission on the folder.

  • A network location that is accessible from the Web Server.

If you use a network path, compliance users must enter the path when using the export to Web Server option. Users can enter additional folders from the network path root to create sub-folders. The user that you configure must be the owner of the folder, or a domain user with write permissions on the network path.

Before You Begin

  • Determine if you want to configure a local path or network path as the export location.
    • If you select a local path, ensure the Network Services account has read and write permission on the folder.
    • If you select a network path, you must communicate the path to compliance users as they must supply the network path when they use the export to Web Server option in Compliance Search.
  • This option can only be enabled for all Compliance Search users. Export to Web Server is not supported as a preference for individual users or end-user search.
