Supported Devices

The following cloud storage devices are supported with the latest Service Pack. If the cloud storage product is not listed in this list, you must verify the compatibility of your cloud storage product with Data Protection Suite. Amazon S3

You can create three types of Amazon storage classes from the CommCell Console.

  • Standard
  • Standard - Infrequent Access
  • Reduced Redundancy Storage

Amazon Glacier is supported through policies that can be configured on Amazon S3 storage.

You can create a Google cloud library from the CommCell Console. For more information see, Cloud Storage - Getting Started.

Alternatively you can also use the OAuth 2.0 technique. For more information, see Creating a Google Cloud Library by Using OAuth 2.0 Technique.

You can create Google storage buckets from the Google site.

Google has three types of cloud  storage buckets:

  1. Standard
  2. Nearline
  3. Durable Reduced Availability Storage

By default, a Standard cloud storage bucket is created when creating Google storage bucket from the CommCell Console. However, you can change it to any other Google cloud storage bucket by setting the nCloudGoogleStorageClass additional setting. Restart the MediaAgent services after configuring the additional setting.

Deduplication Support

Storage Type Details

Direct Deduplication to Cloud Storage is not supported on the following platforms:

  • Amazon Glacier
  • Caringo CAStor
  • Dell DX Object

Deduplication to Tape (Silo Storage) is supported in the Deduplication Using Cloud Gateway configuration.

Silo Storage is not supported in the Direct Deduplication to Cloud Storage configuration.
