Cloud Storage - Support

Supported Devices

The following cloud storage devices are supported with the latest Service Pack. If the cloud storage product is not listed in this list, you must verify the compatibility of your cloud storage product with Data Protection Suite. For more information see, Verifying Cloud Storage Product Compatibility with Data Protection Suite.

Cloud Storage Product Details
Amazon S3 http://aws.amazon.com/s3

You can create three types of Amazon storage classes from the CommCell Console.

  • Standard
  • Standard - Infrequent Access
  • Reduced Redundancy Storage

For other regions and corresponding Service host end points, see http://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/rande.html#s3_region

Amazon Glacier is supported through policies that can be configured on Amazon S3 storage.

For more information, see http://aws.amazon.com/glacier/.

Google https://cloud.google.com/storage/

You can create a Google cloud library from the CommCell Console. For more information see, Cloud Storage - Getting Started.

Alternatively you can also use the OAuth 2.0 technique. For more information, see Creating a Google Cloud Library by Using OAuth 2.0 Technique.

You can create Google storage buckets from the Google site.

Google has three types of cloud  storage buckets:

  1. Standard
  2. Nearline
  3. Durable Reduced Availability Storage

By default, a Standard cloud storage bucket is created when creating Google storage bucket from the CommCell Console. However, you can change it to any other Google cloud storage bucket by setting the nCloudGoogleStorageClass additional setting. Restart the MediaAgent services after configuring the additional setting.

For more information on creating the additional setting, see Add or Modify an Additional Setting.

Note: Refer to https://cloud.google.com/storage/ for bucket naming convention.
