Associating Mailboxes with the User Mailbox Subclient Using Mailboxes in Active Directory Groups

After you create the Exchange Mailbox client, must associate mailboxes with the subclient.

Before You Begin

Create the Exchange policies.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Console, go to Client Computers > client > agent > User Mailbox.

  2. At the bottom of the right pane, click the Mailboxes tab.

  3. From the CommCell Console, right-click within the right pane, and then click New Association > AD Groups.

    The Create New Association dialog box appears.

  4. Click Configure.

    The Configure AD Groups dialog box appears.

    Tip

    : It is recommended to select security groups while setting the auto discover criteria.

  5. If you want to discover mailboxes from the most recent version of the database, clear the Perform discover operation in cached mode check box.

  6. Click Discover.

    A message appears that asks you if you want to continue.

  7. Click Yes.

    A list of available Active Directory Groups appears. If a group is already associated with the subclient, is appears in a gray, italic font.

  8. Select all the required groups, and then click OK.

  9. If you want mailboxes that are added to the groups later to be added to the subclient automatically, select the Enable Auto-Discover check box.

  10. Click the Policies tab.

  11. Select the Exchange policies that will be applied to all of the mailboxes within the subclient.

  12. Click OK.

    All the mailboxes that you associated with the subclient appear in the right pane.

Where to Go Next

If you enabled autodiscovery, the corresponding Active Directory groups appear on the Auto Discovered Association tab located in the lower portion of the right pane. You can manage group types from that tab.
