You can schedule a backup job based on the modifications in the subclient content. The backup will be performed only when the criterion for the minimum interval between the jobs is met and any new or modified file is available in the subclient content. Follow the steps given below to set this criteria.
Procedure

From the CommCell Console, go to Policies > Schedule Policies.

Right-click the <laptop schedule policy> and click Edit.
The Laptop Plans dialog box appears.

In the Tasks area select the<schedule task> displayed and then click the Edit button.
The Backup Task Options dialog box appears.

On the Schedule Pattern tab, select Automatic.

In the Detect file or log activity every box, enter the time interval after which the software checks for modified files and runs the backup if there are modified files and if other schedule criteria are met.

In the Run the backup every box, enter the time interval after which the software checks for modified files. If new or modified files are identified, the job starts regardless of any schedule criteria.

To ignore the operation window rules if the schedule starts because of the maximum job interval criteria, select the Ignore operation window at Maximum interval check box.

Click OK.
For example, if you specify 3 hours in the Minimum Sync Interval box, then a backup will be performed after every 3 hours only if any new file is added to the subclient or any file is changed.
