Configuring a NAS Client for NetApp

You must create a NAS client to perform archive operations.

Procedure

  1. On the CommCell Browser, right-click Client Computers, point to New Client > NAS.

  2. Select the Network Share check box, and under that select Windows.

  3. In the Client Name box, enter the client name.

  4. In the Host Name box, enter the fully qualified NetApp vserver name/IP.

  5. Click the NDMP Properties tab.

  6. In the Add NDMP Server dialog box, specify the NDMP login credentials for the client computer:

    1. In the NDMP Server Hostname box, enter the fully qualified NetApp vserver name/IP. Make sure that the vserver name/IP address is a logical interface (LIF) that has management access.

    2. In the NDMP Login box, enter the name of the NDMP user.

    3. In the NDMP Password box, enter the NDMP password.

      Tip

If you do not have an NDMP password, run the following command on the file server to generate the password: nacluster1::security> vserver services ndmp generate-password -user vsadmin -vserver <vserver_name>

    4. Click Detect.

    5. Click OK.

A pseudo NAS client is created on the CommCell Console.
