Configuring Network Settings

You can define the connection details for incoming and outgoing connections required to operate the client group across the network by configuring network settings.

Use the following steps to configure network settings for a client computer group:

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computer Groups, right-click the client_computer_group, and then click Properties.

    The Client Group dialog box appears.

  2. Click Network.

    The Network Properties for Client Group dialog box appears.

  3. On the Network Route Configuration tab, select the Configure Network Route Settings check box.

  4. Select the options applicable to your network settings.

    See Configuring Network Routes for more information.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Right-click the client_computer_group, and then click All Tasks > Push Network Configuration.

    The configuration is applied to all clients. You can verify the new configuration on each client computer.

Use the following steps to configure a client to inherit the network settings from the client computer group.

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Client Computers.

  2. Right-click the client and then click Properties.

    The Client Computer Properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click Network.

  4. In the Network Properties for Client: client_name dialog box, click the Network Route Configuration tab.

  5. Clear the Configure Network Route Settings check box.

  6. Click OK.

    Future network changes will be applicable at the client group level.

Note

When Configure Network Route Settings is selected, the network configuration of both the client computer and client group are merged in the client computer.
