You can use the information in the Virtual Machine Infrastructure Report to generate an alert that provides a list of unprotected VMs:

Click the alerts icon (
) at the right side of the Details section. -
On the Alert Configuration dialog box, enter the following information:

Alert Name - A descriptive name for the alert notification (for example, "Unprotected VMs")

Send Notification Withstatus, when :of the following conditions are met - Select Info and all.

Select Is Protected - Equal To - No for the first condition.

To exclude VMs that do not have any data, click Add Condition and select Guest Size (GB) - More Than - 0 for the second condition.
You can add other conditions as needed. For example, you can filter specific VMs or use the client computer group as input.

In the Notifications section, select Email and enter your email address in the Recipients box.

Click Save.
