Creating a Subclient

To provide protection for a specific set of containers and images, create a new subclient. A user-defined subclient can identify containers and images that have the same Service Level Agreement (SLA) or that need to be backed up on the same schedule.

The default subclient is preconfigured to back up all containers and images that are not protected by other subclients.

Before You Begin

• Create a storage device

• Create a storage policy

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, navigate to Client Computers > virtualization_client > Virtual Server > Docker.

2. Right-click a backup set and then click New Subclient.

   The Subclient Properties dialog box appears.

3. On the General tab, enter the Subclient name.

4. Identify containers and images to back up:

   1. On the Content tab, click Browse.

   2. Navigate to one or more containers and images and select them.

   3. Click OK.

   The selected containers and images are displayed in the Contents of subclient list.

5. On the Storage Device tab, select a Storage Policy.

6. Click OK.

   The Backup Schedule dialog box appears.

7. Click Do Not Schedule, and then click OK.
