Installation Methods

The following table indicates the Commvault software that you can install with each installation method:

You can install most Commvault packages, except for the following packages:

  • CommServe

  • 1-Touch Server

  • CommServe SNMP Enabler

  • Metrics Reporting Server

  • Web Server

  • Workflow Engine

Note

ContinuousDataReplicator installations are not supported on SuSE 10.x.

Installations Using the Installation Package

  • Local Installations

    All Commvault packages are supported.

  • Custom Package

    All Commvault packages are supported.

  • Unattended Installations

    All Commvault packages are supported.

Installations Using the Download Manager

You can only install Windows-based Commvault packages or create custom packages for Windows computers.

Installing agents in restore-only mode

Supported by most agents, except for the following packages:

  • Active Directory

  • ContinuousDataReplicator

  • Documentum

  • Macintosh and OES

  • Sybase

IBM Notes Database and IBM Notes Document can be installed as restore-only agents only on Windows computers.

Installing Commvault in decoupled mode

Supported by most Commvault packages, except for the following packages:

  • 1-Touch Server

  • Active Directory

  • Command Center

  • CommCell Console

  • Compliance Search

  • ContinuousDataReplicator

  • DB2 Agent

  • Domino Database

  • <DOMINO_MAILBOX_ARCHIVER_AGENT>

  • Exchange Agent

  • Exchange Mailbox Archiver Agent

  • Macintosh and OES

  • SAP Hana

  • Search Engine

  • SharePoint Agent

  • SharePoint Server Agent

Oracle supports decoupled installations only on UNIX computers.
