Local Installation Using the Installation Package on UNIX Client

You can configure connectivity to the CommServe computer using a network gateway during a local installation using the Commvault installation package on a UNIX client.

Procedure

  1. On the Network Configuration page of the installation wizard, select Yes and click Next.

  2. Select CommServe is reachable only through a proxy and click Next.

  3. On the CommServe Client Name page, specify the name of the CommServe computer and click Next.

  4. On the Setting Network Gateway Connection to CommServe page, complete the following steps:

    1. In the Network Gateway Host Name or IP Address option, specify the host name of the network gateway on which the CommServe computer can be reached. If the network gateway is behind a port-forwarding gateway, provide the host name or the IP address of the port-forwarding gateway.

    2. In the Network Gateway short name option, specify the client name of the Commvault network gateway.

    3. In the Network Gateway HTTP/HTTPS tunnel port number option, specify the tunnel port on which the network gateway expects connections to the CommServe computer. If the network gateway is behind a port-forwarding gateway, provide the port number of the port-forwarding gateway to reach the CommServe computer.

    4. If you want to add an additional network gateway, click the Add Additional Network Gateway button, and then repeat substeps a through c, above.

    5. Click Next.

  5. On the Deciding If to Configure HTTP Proxy page, if the client is separated from the CommServe computer by an HTTP proxy, select Yes, and then click Next. Otherwise, select No and continue with the client installation.

    After you accept to configure HTTP proxy, on the Setting Proxy Gateway Configuration page, complete the following steps:

    1. In the HTTP proxy hostname or IP address option, specify the host name or IP address of the HTTP proxy.

    2. In the HTTP proxy port number option, specify the port number of the HTTP proxy.

    3. Click Next.

  6. Continue with the client installation.
