In case of cross version migration, the support is only from a higher version CommCell environment to a lower version CommCell environment. For example, you can migrate from a v11 CommCell environment to a v10 or v9 CommCell environment, but not vice versa.
However, if you want to perform migration using the v9 or v10 CommServe database, you can use the CommCell Migration From v9/v10 workflow to upgrade the database to v11 and migrate the clients from a v9 or a v10 CommCell environment to a v11 CommCell environment.
Before You Begin
Create a database dump of the clients on the source CommServe, and then copy the dump file to the destination CommServe.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, go to Workflows.

Download the CommCell Migration From v9/v10 workflow from the Commvault Store.
For instructions, see Downloading and Updating Workflows from the Commvault Store.

Right-click CCM Workflow, then and click All Tasks > Deploy to deploy the workflow.

Right-click CCM Workflow again, and then click All Tasks > Execute to run the workflow.
The CCM Workflow Options dialog box appears.

In the Database Dump File Path box, enter the location of the database dump file.

In the Export Folder box, enter the folder where you want to export the files while performing the upgrade operation.

To avoid deletion of the database files from the export folder in case of failure to help in reviewing the reasons for failure, select Do not drop staged database on failure.

Click OK.
The Select Entities to Export dialog box appears.

Do one of the following:

To export all clients, select All Clients.

To export specific clients, select the clients from the list of clients that appear, and then click OK.

Click OK.
You can track the progress of the workflow job from the Job Controller. If an alert is configured, the recipient receives an email notification on the workflow result.
