Software Cache Configuration (CommServe Software Cache)

Use this dialog box to view and manage the configuration details of the CommServe cache directory.

The CommServe cache directory holds the Commvault software needed to perform installations and upgrades from the CommCell Console.

Cache Details

Indicates the location of the CommServe cache directory. If you need to update the location, click Browse.

Remember that the directory must be in a local drive of the CommServe computer.

Click to view the service packs and additional updates available in the CommServe cache directory.

Available space for cache

Displays the amount of free disk space available in the CommServe cache directory.

Install Media Cache

CommServe Cache Status for Media

Indicates whether the CommServe cache directory is ready to receive software, which includes Commvault packages, updates, and service packs.

If the cache is ready, the Valid status is displayed. Otherwise, the Invalid status is displayed. To address this issue, delete the contents of the cache and then download the software manually.

Latest Timestamp - Windows

Displays the time and date when the CommServe cache was last updated with Commvault software for Windows-based computers. If no timestamp is displayed, then there is no software for Windows computers.

Latest Timestamp - UNIX

Displays the time and date when the CommServe cache was last updated with Commvault software for UNIX, Linux, and Macintosh-based computers. If no timestamp is displayed, then there is no software for UNIX, Linux, and Macintosh computers.

Delete Cache Contents

Click to delete the software that resides in the CommServe cache directory.

Commit Cache

Click to update the CommServe database with the current configuration and contents of the CommServe cache. Use this option when you copy the software to the CommServe cache manually, or when you change the location of the CommServe cache.
