Advanced Restore Options (General)

Use this dialog box to access additional restore options. Note that all the options described in this help may not be available and only the options displayed in the dialog box are applicable to the component installed on the client.

For additional information on the IBM i File System Agent options, go to the IBM website, RSTLIB.

Automatically Detect Regular Expressions

Note: This option is selected by default for direct restore operations. For Browse and Restore operations, you cannot enable this option when you select definitive paths to restore.

This option allows you to use wildcard characters to specify the patterns for files and folders to be included in the restore. When selected, the system will recognize supported regular expressions (wildcards) in the specified Source Path. When cleared, the system will read the specified Source Path as literal.

Skip Errors and Continue

This option allows a restore job to continue regardless of media errors and outputs a file that lists the full path names of the files that failed to get restored.

Use Exact Index

This option allows you to associate the media with the most recent index available in the CommCell Console.

Restore Private authority (PVTAUT)

This is only valid when the backup contains the private authorities. Select this option when you need to restore the private authority with the object.

Restore Spooled file data (SPLFDTA)

Select this option to restore the spool files when you restore OUTQ objects.

Allow object differences (ALLOWOBJDIF)

Select this option to allow one of the following differences between the saved data and the restored data.

Note: When you select this option and there are differences in the data, the job completion message indicates that this option was chosen.

None

This is the default. Select this when there can be no difference between the saved data and the restored data.

*ALL

Select this option to allow all differences between the saved data and the restored data.

Note: This option does not guarantee compatibility with the existing databases, so you may need to correct the database after the restore.

*COMPATIBILE

Select this option to allow differences that are compatible with the existing databases.

Note: This option is available only when the operating system is version V7Rx or later.

Best Practice: Use this option instead of *ALL because it guarantees compatibility with the existing databases.

Other

Select this option to allow a combination of the following parameter differences:

*AUTL

Allow authorization list differences.

*FILELVL

Allow file level ID and member level ID differences.

*OWNER

Allow file ownership differences.

*PGP

Allow primary group differences.

Force Object Conversion

Select this option to convert the user objects to the format that the current operating system version requires or to be compatible with the current machine.

*SYSVAL

Select this option to convert the objects by using the QFRCCVNRST system value.

*NO

Select this option to prevent the user options from being converted.

*YES*RQD
