Amazon RDS Protection Using AWS Native Snapshots

You can use the Virtual Server Agent for Amazon to protect Amazon RDS instances.

The Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) provides configuration and scaling resources to host relational databases, for example Oracle, in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.

A virtualization client is the access point for an AWS user account. You must define a virtualization client for at least one valid AWS account to protect the data. When you create a virtualization client, the Commvault software automatically creates an instance and a default subclient that you use to protect the data.

The Commvault solution supports the following databases:

  • Aurora

  • MariaDB

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • MySQL

  • Oracle

  • PostgreSQL

Configuration

You can use the IntelliSnap feature with the Amazon native snapshot engine to protect your data.

Note
