Application Migration Firewall

For application migration, the on-premise CommServe computer and the MediaAgent communicate with the network gateway through a one-way network route.

The following image shows the solution network overview.

The on-premise site contains the following components:

• A CommServe computer (CS)

• A MediaAgent (MA)

• A production client for the application (IDA)

The cloud contains a Commvault network gateway server that communicates with the Cloud Compute node.

You must create the following two network topologies for the feature:

1. One-way network topology. This is a one-way network route between a client group that contains the MediaAgent and the CommServe computer, and a client group that contains the network gateway server.

2. A network gateway topology. This is a network route that that uses a network gateway between a client group that contains the MediaAgent and the CommServe computer, and a client group that contains the clients that have the applications that you want to migrate.
