Assigning a Storage Policy to a Subclient

You can use an existing storage policy or create a new one. If you create a new storage policy, you can select the library where you want the data to be written, including libraries on the MediaAgent or other file servers.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies.

  2. Right-click Storage Policies, and then select New Storage Policy.

  3. Create a Data Protection and Archiving storage policy by following the prompts displayed in the Storage Policy Wizard.

  4. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client > NDMP > defaultBackupSet.

  5. Right-click the default subclient, and then click Properties.

  6. On the Storage Device tab, in the Storage Policy box, select your storage policy.

  7. Optional: On the Data Access Nodes tab, to use proxy computers, select data access nodes:

    • To add a node, under Available Data Access Nodes, select one or more node from the list, and then click Add.

    • To add all nodes as proxy computers, click Add All.

    • To change the precedence of the nodes, under Selected Data Access Nodes, select a node, and then click the up and down arrows.

  8. Click OK.
