Changing the Indexing MediaAgent (Indexing Version 2)

You can change the MediaAgent that performs Version 2 indexing for one or more CommCell entities.

Note

  • After changing the indexing MediaAgent, if you immediately perform a browse operation or a find operation on a large set of data, these operations may take a significant amount of time to complete.

  • If a primary indexing MediaAgent for a backupset/client is down for more than 30 minutes, the system automatically assigns the backupset/client to another available indexing MediaAgent, even if the backupset/client was specifically assigned to the indexing MediaAgent that went down.
