Changing Network Ports

You can change the network port numbers of a client or MediaAgent.

Note

Do not change the CVD port number on the CommServe computer.

Procedures

Changing Network Ports - For Clients or MediaAgents Via Additional Settings in the CommCell Console

  1. Set the port number on which the GxCVD service communicates by adding the additional setting displayed in the following table.

    For instructions on adding additional settings from the CommCell Console, see Adding or Modifying Additional Settings from the CommCell Console.

  2. If the client or MediaAgent runs the Windows operating system and is from a previous Commvault version, set the port number on which the GxClMgrS service communicates by adding the additional setting displayed in the following table.

  3. Recycle the Commvault services on the client or MediaAgent computer.

Changing Network Ports - For Clients or MediaAgents Using the Registry Editor

  1. For Windows clients, open the Registry Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CommVault Systems\Galaxy\Instancennn\Session, and then update the port number in the Value Data field for the following registry keys:

    • nCVDPort

    • nEVMGRCPort

  2. For UNIX clients, go to the /etc/CommVaultRegistry/Galaxy/Instancennn/Session directory, open the .properties file, and then update the port number for nCVDPort.

  3. Recycle the Commvault services on the client or MediaAgent computer.
