Cloning enables you to create an exact duplicate of an existing policy. A cloned storage policy is identical to the original policy, except it does not retain the original associated subclients. This saves you the time of creating a new policy manually.

Cloning is supported only on non-deduplicated storage policies.

You cannot clone a storage policy if the storage policy has at least one storage policy copy with deduplication.

You are recommended not to clone a storage policy migrated using CommCell migration.

It is not possible to clone a storage policy associated to OnCommand Unified Manager Server.
Procedure

From the CommCell Browser, expand Policies | Storage Policies.

Right-click the appropriate storage policy, point to All Tasks and click Clone.

In the Clone Storage Policy test dialog box, type a name for the new storage policy, and then click OK.
A new storage policy is created. It has all the properties of the existing storage policy. However, you must manually associate the subclients with the new storage policy.
