Cloud Volume Reconciliation

Updated

You can use cloud volume reconciliation to reconcile discrepancies in a cloud volume that are associated with the data of a non-deduplicated storage policy copy.

Volume reconciliation compares the physical data that is located in the cloud mount path with the metadata records in the CommServe database, and then generates a list of orphaned jobs and orphaned media. Orphaned jobs are jobs that have no corresponding data in the cloud library. Orphaned media are volumes that have no corresponding jobs in the CommServe server.

You can reconcile the discrepancies by deleting the orphaned jobs and orphaned media.

Support for Cloud Volume Reconciliation

Cloud volume reconciliation is supported for:

  • Amazon Web Services

  • Microsoft Azure

Cloud volume reconciliation is not supported for archive storage class environments such as Amazon S3 Glacier and Azure Archive.
