Configuring Additional Settings in a Cluster Environment

You can either configure an additional setting on a cluster group client or on a specific physical node. When you configure an additional setting on the cluster group client, the configuration applies to all of the physical nodes associated with the cluster group.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers, and then do one of the following:

    • To configure an additional setting on a cluster group client, right-click the cluster group client, and then click Properties.

    • To configure an additional setting on a physical node, right-click the client associated with the cluster group, and then click Properties.

The Client Computer Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Click Advanced.

The Advanced Client Properties dialog box appears.

  3. On the Additional Settings tab, click Add.

The Add Additional Settings dialog box appears.

  4. Add the values for the additional setting except for the value for Category.

  5. In the Category box, do the following:

    • For a cluster group client, the Category box is prepopulated with Machines\client.

      Important

Do not modify this value. This additional setting will be configured on all the physical machines of the cluster group.

    • For a physical node, type Machines\client_name, where client_name is the name of the physical node on which you want to configure the additional setting.

Important

Both the names and the categories (also called types) of additional settings are case sensitive. When you add or modify the name or the category of an additional setting, match the capitalization that is in the additional settings database.

To add the additional setting to additional physical nodes, repeat these steps.

  1. Click OK.
