Create New Archiving Policy (General)

Applies to: User Mailbox

Use this dialog box to create a new Exchange archiving policy. Use the General tab to name the policy and define which mailbox types will be archived.

Policy Name

The name of the Exchange archiving policy.

Include these mailbox types

The selected mailbox types are included in the archiving operation.

  • Primary Mailbox

    When this check box is selected, the messages in the primary mailbox are archived. This option is selected by default.

  • Archive Mailbox

    (Applies to: Exchange 2010 or later) When this check box is selected, the messages in the Archive Mailbox are archived.

  • Disabled Mailbox

    When this check box is selected, the messages in mailboxes associated with disabled AD accounts are archived. This option is selected by default.
