Deployment for Laptop Backup

The following methods are available to distribute the laptop backup installation package:

Distribution Method

Description

Refer to

Using the Download Center

Create the laptop package as an executable file, and then upload the package to the Download Center for end-users to retrieve.

Use this method if you want end-users to:

  1. Download the package from the Download Center

  2. Deploy the package on the laptop computer.

Using Third-Party Software

(Mass Deployment)

This method does not involve end-user interaction.

For Windows:

  • Create the laptop package as an executable file, and then deploy it silently across laptop computers using third-party software, such as the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

For Macintosh:

  • Create the laptop package using the command line approach to obtain an executable package, which includes the necessary files to trigger the installation. Deploy the package silently across laptop computers using a third-party software, such as Casper for Macintosh.

For UNIX:

  • Create the laptop package, and then deploy it silently across laptop computers using a third-party software.
