Disabling the Deduplication for a Network Storage Pool

You can temporarily suspend deduplication during backups for a storage pool for diagnostics and maintenance purposes, and then resume again later. When you disable deduplication for a storage pool, deduplication is disabled for all dependent storage policy copies. However, if you already disabled deduplication for a dependent storage policy copy, then deduplication is not enabled for that copy when you resume deduplication for the storage pool.

Procedure

  1. From the CommCell Browser, go to Storage Resources > Storage Pools.

  2. Right-click the storage pool, and then click Properties > Storage Pool Copy.

The Storage Pool Copy properties dialog box appears.

  3. Click the Deduplication tab, and then click the Advanced tab.

  4. Do the following:

    • To temporarily suspend deduplication, select Temporarily disable deduplication.

    • To resume deduplication, clear Temporarily disable deduplication.
