You can use this procedure when you use a non-deduplication storage policy for Oracle and Oracle RAC backups and you only want to use compression for the log backups.
Procedure

Set the Enable compression on Media Agent for Oracle/Oracle RAC Non-Dedup backups Media Management parameter to 1 to use the MediaAgent compression. For information on how to configure the parameter, see Media Management Configuration: Service Configuration.

Create a primary copy for the storage policy.
You must select the Enable software compression on clients check box (Storage Policy Copy Properties dialog box, Advanced tab).

Configure a non-deduplication storage policy to use for the subclient.
Result
You can assign the storage policy to subclients configured for logs where you want the log backups to use the MediaAgent for compression.

Configure the subclient to use the storage policy settings (Subclient Properties dialog box, Storage Device tab, Data Transfer Option tab, Use Storage Policy Settings).
