Exchange Mailbox Properties (User Mailbox Environment Type)

Use this dialog box to create an Exchange Mailbox client. You can create an Exchange Mailbox client in a Database Availability Group (DAG) environment or a non-DAG environment. The option that you select on the Environment Type tab determines what information you need to enter for the Exchange Mailbox client.

Exchange On-Premises

Select this option if your Exchange servers are on-premises only.

Exchange Hybrid

Select this option if your environment includes both on-premises Exchange servers and an Office 365 with Exchange (Exchange Online) server.

Exchange Online (Access Through On-Premises Active Directory)

Select this option if your environment has an Office 365 with Exchange (Exchange Online) server that uses an on-premises Active Directory.

Exchange Online (Access Through Azure Active Directory)

Select this option if your environment has an Office 365 with Exchange (Exchange Online) server that uses Azure AD.
