Excluding CommCell Console Directories from Windows File System Backups

You can use the nFilterGalaxyDirectories additional setting to exclude any of the CommCell Console directories from a backup operation.

You can exclude the following Commvault directories:

• Software Installation directory

• Index Cache directory

• Job Control directory

• Job Results directory

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

2. Right-click the appropriate client and click Properties.

3. In the Client Computer Properties dialog box, click Advanced.

4. In the Advanced Client Properties dialog box, click the Additional Settings tab.

5. On the Additional Settings tab, click Add.

   The Add Additional Settings dialog box appears.

6. In the Name box, type nFilterGalaxyDirectories.

   The Category and Type details populate automatically.

7. In the Value box, type 1.

8. Click OK.

9. Click OK.

Result

When you run a backup operation, the CommCell Console directories are not backed up.
