Explorer Plug-In: Ad Hoc Backup of Data

You can perform ad hoc backup of files or folders in the explorer window of your laptop computer by using the Explorer Plug-In.

Before You Begin

Enable the Explorer Plug-In

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the file or folder that you want to back up, in the file explorer window of your laptop computer.

  2. Right-click the file or folder, and then click Edge > Backup.

    Note

    For Macintosh laptops, if the Edge > Backup option in the context menu is not visible, then you must navigate to System Preferences > Extensions > Finder Extensions, and then select EdgeFinderPlugin.

Result

You can view the backed-up file or folder in your laptop file explorer window by expanding This Computer > My Data.
