Step 1: Before You Begin
Refer to the following information to learn more about the capabilities and requirements of the IBM i File System Agent:
Step 2: Install the File System Agent and File System for the IBM i Agent on Access Node
Install the packages on a Linux access node by using one of the following options.

Use a predefined OVA template with vCenter and ESX to create a LINUX Proxy For more information, see Deploy a Virtual Machine for UNIX-Based File Restores.
The File System Agent is installed as a "restore only agent". Perform the following tasks to change the configuration:

Install the IBM i File System Agent on the client. For more information, see Installing Commvault Remotely Using the CommCell Console.
Select the File System for IBM i package.

When you use the OVA template, the software automatically installs the VSA. Uninstall the agent.

Install the Linux File System Agent
Review each of the following topics to get started with the installation:

Review general guidelines to prepare for the installation, which include configurations that your computer might need before the installation.

Review agent specific guidelines to prepare for the installation, such as gathering the information that you must provide during the installation.

Select the installation method that is most appropriate for your environment.

Note
You can also install the File System Agent and File System for the IBM i Agent packages on the Commvault HyperScale appliance and use it as a access node.
Step 3: Prepare for Your First Backup and Restore

Create an IBM i File System Agent Client, and install the Commvault package on the IBM i client.

Decide whether you want the following additional functionality:
