Install a New MediaAgent on the Second Instance of the CommServe-MediaAgent Computer

Install the MediaAgent software on the second instance of the CommServe-MediaAgent computer.

Procedure

1. Install the MediaAgent software on the second instance of the CommServe-MediaAgent computer. During the local installation, on the Install Instance Selection page of the installation wizard, select Create a new instance.

2. Point the MediaAgent to the CommServer that is installed on the first instance.

   Note

   The client name of the new MediaAgent is used to identify the MediaAgent on the CommServer.

3. The following steps are crucial during installation.

   1. Select the components that were recorded earlier in the old MediaAgent.

      When the MediaAgent is selected, VSS Provider, File System Core and Windows File System are automatically selected. Leave the default selections for the MediaAgent unchanged and continue the installation.

   2. During the installation, on the Policy Selection page, do not select any storage policy from the Storage Policy list.
