Installer: Directory Service Server Configuration

Use this page in the wizard to specify the directory service that contains the computers on which you want to install the software.

  • Server Name

    Displays the host name (Fully Qualified Domain Name) of the domain, for example,

  • User Name

    Displays the user name of the account used to access the domain.

  • LDAP Filter (Optional)

    Displays the syntax of the LDAP Filter if the domain has been configured to use Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), which provides additional network security with the external domain.

  • Directory Service

    Displays the type of directory service. There are three types of directory service: Windows Active Directory, Open LDAP, and Network Information Service (also known as NIS).
