Modifying the Deduplication Properties for the Client

If your storage configurations include source-side deduplication, you can change the source-side deduplication properties on the client.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers.

2. Right-click the appropriate client and then click Properties.

3. In the Client Computer Properties dialog box, click Advanced.

4. In the Advanced Client Computer Properties dialog box, click the Deduplication tab.

5. Modify one or more of the following source-side deduplication settings, as required:

   • Storage policy

   • Source-side deduplication on client

   • Source-side disk cache for low bandwidth environments

   • High Latency Optimization when clients are in delayed network like WAN and DDB MediaAgent in fast network environments like LAN

   • Variable Content Alignment to reduce the amount of data stored during backups

6. Click OK.
