Performing a SAP HANA Multitenant Database Container IntelliSnap Full Backup

Perform the IntelliSnap backup operation from the tenant database subclient.

The Commvault software includes the SYSTEMDB and the single tenant database on the same volume because SAP HANA treats the databases as a single entity.

Before You Begin

1. If you have not already do so, configure a subclient for the tenant database. For more information, see Configuring a SAP HANA Tenant Database IntelliSnap Subclient.

2. Optional: By default, when the Commvault software performs a hardware snapshot, it quiesces the XFS file system volume before it takes the snapshot. To change this behavior, see Preventing the Commvault Software from Quiescing the XFS Filesystem.

Procedure

1. From the CommCell Browser, expand Client Computers > client> SAP HANA >instance > tenant_database_backup_set.

2. Right-click the subclient, and then click Backup.

3. On the Backup Options for Subclient dialog box, select the backup type and job initiation:

   1. In the Backup Type section, select the Full option.

   2. In the Job Initiation section, choose to run the backup now or schedule it.

      Note: If you selected Schedule, set up the schedule.

4. Click OK to close the Backup Options dialog box.
