Preparing the existing CommServe-MediaAgent computer for separating the CommServe includes preventing new jobs from running, copying the index cache folder, and moving the local mount path folder.
Procedure
-
On the CommServe-MediaAgent computer, stop all running jobs or wait for the jobs to complete.
-
Disable all CommCell activities:
-
From the CommCell Browser, right-click the CommServe node, and then click Properties.
-
On the Activity Control tab, clear all the check boxes, except for the Enable All Job Activity check box.
-
Click OK.
All new jobs, except the disaster recovery operations, are prevented from starting.
-
-
Make a note of all the disk libraries that are configured on the CommServe computer.
-
Copy the contents of index cache folder to another accessible location.
For example, if you installed the Commvault software in C:\ directory, the index cache folder is located in the C:\Program Files\CommVault\ContentStore folder.
-
If you have a disk library configured and data is written to that library, move the local mount path folder to an accessible location.
For instructions, see Move Mount Path.
-
Alternatively, you can copy the mount path folder manually.
For example, if you have disk library with a local mount path in C:\DiskLibrary, verify that the mount path is copied to the DiskLibrary folder.
