After you have enabled content indexing on the storage policy and client, as well as performed a full backup of the client data, you can run your first Content Indexing job.
Before You Begin
-
Configured content indexing. See Search Engine Configuration.
-
If you are content indexing Exchange, Domino Mailbox data, or Google data, ensure that your environment is configured properly. For information about configuring content indexing for these agents, see Advanced Options - Content Indexing.
Note
For Exchange data, this method of content indexing applies to the classic agents only. If you use the Exchange Mailbox Agent, see Content Indexing Messages Using the Exchange Mailbox Agent.
Procedure
-
From the CommCell Browser, go to Policies > Storage Policies.
-
Right-click the storage_policy for which content indexing was enabled, and then click All Tasks > Run Content Indexing.
The Content Indexing Options dialog box appears.
-
Select the Select Source MediaAgent check box, and then select the MediaAgent name from the list.
Note
By default, content indexing uses the MediaAgent based on the copy precedence on the storage policy. If you want to select a different source MediaAgent, select the agent from the list.
-
Click OK.
