SAP for Oracle XML Instance Parameters

The following table describes the supported SAP for Oracle instance parameters.

Description of Parameter Values

appName

Name of the application. In this case it would be 'SAP for Oracle'.

clientName

Name of the client computer, as displayed in the CommCell Browser.

instanceName

Name of the instance.

encryptionFlag

Option to enable encryption.

Valid values are:

  • ENC_MEDIA_ONLY, to enable Media Only (MediaAgent Side) encryption

  • ENC_NETWORK_MEDIA, to enable Network and Media (Agent Side) encryption

  • ENC_NETWORK_ONLY, to enable Network Only (Agent Encrypts, MediaAgent Decrypts) encryption

  • ENC_NONE, no encryption

numberOfArchiveLogBackupStreams

Number of archive log backup streams to be used.

oracleHome

The path for the Oracle application software.

sapDataPath

The path for the SAP Data directory.

sapExeFolder

The path for the SAP exe directory.

oracleUser/domainName (Windows only)

Name of the domain server.

oracleUser/password (Windows only)

Name of the user that has administrator rights to administer the Oracle application. This is the account used by the user to log in to and use the application to run jobs.

oracleUser/userName (Unix only)

Name of the user that has administrator rights to administer the Oracle application. This is the account used by the user to log in to and use the application to run jobs.

sqlConnect/userName

The account with database administrator privileges to access the Oracle database (standard and recovery catalog databases) to use for the Connect String.

sqlConnect/domainName

The specific name of the Oracle service.

sqlconnect/password

The connect password.

networkAgents

Number of Network Agents.

softwareCompression

Option to enable compression on the Client or MediaAgent computer.

Valid values are:

  • ON_CLIENT, to enable software compression on the client.

  • ON_MEDIAAGENT, to enable software compression on the MediaAgent

  • USE_STORAGE_POLICY_SETTINGS, to use the software compression options defined on the storage policy

  • OFF, to disable software compression

throttleNetworkBandwidth

Enhancing backup performance by reducing network bandwidth overhead.

Valid values are 2-2147483647.

commandLineStoragePolicy/storagePolicyName

Name of the command line storage policy for the Oracle command line backup

logBackupStoragePolicy/storagePolicyName

Name of the log storage policy for the Oracle log backup

deDuplicationOptions/generateSignature

A component of deduplication performed on the client or MediaAgent computer.

Valid values are:

  • ON_CLIENT, to enable signature generation on the client

  • ON_MEDIA_AGENT, to enable signature generation on the MediaAgent

  • OFF, to disable the signature generation

dataArchiveGroup/storagePolicyName

Name of the storage policy for the default subclient.

snapToTapeProxyToUseSource

Enable or disable using source if proxy is unreachable

Valid values are:

  • true, use the source

  • false, do not use the source

allowMultipleDataReaders

Allow multiple data reads for a single physical drive or mount point during backups on this subclient. Use this for specialized hardware such as RAID, or possibly in the case of spanned volumes.

Valid values are:

  • true, allow multiple reads

  • false, do not allow multiple reads

useSourceProxyUnavailable

Use a separate proxy server to perform backup copy operations (for example, mounting the snapshot and copying the data to any media).

Valid values are:

  • true, use a separate proxy server

  • false, do not use a separate proxy server

isSnapBackupEnabled

Enable or disable IntelliSnap

Valid values are:

  • true, enable IntelliSnap

  • false, disable IntelliSnap

snapEngineName

The engine to use for an IntelliSnap backup.

Valid values are in Available Parameters.

useSAPSecureStore

Use the SAP Secure Store feature.

Valid values are:

  • true, use the SAP Secure Store feature

  • false, do not use the SAP Secure Store feature

blockSize

The database block size.

snapToTapeEngineTouse/clientName

The client name of the proxy for backup copy operations.

userGroupName

The user group name

associatedUserGroupOperationType

The operation to perform on the user group.

Valid values are:

  • 1 - overwrite

  • 2 - add

  • 3 - delete
